The elections on June 24 have unsurprisingly resulted in Erdoğan being elected as president of the new political setup which was narrowly voted in a constitutional referendum about a year ago. Although that constitutional vote was rigged by the government and state apparatus including the Higher Election Board, the opposition failed to stand up against it.
